9/11 Memorial Garden Project Announcement & Donation Form

The Enfield Volunteer Firefighters Association has embarked on a mission to memorialize those who gave their lives on September 11th of 2001 and those who have given their lives fighting for our freedom or performing emergency services in communities everywhere.  On Thursday September 11, 2008, we commemorated the heroism of that fateful day in 2001 by dedicating our 9/11 Memorial Tribute Garden with a parade and unveiling of the new memorial.   The ceremony began with a parade from the John F. Kennedy Middle School to our station #2 where we held the dedication ceremony.  The ceremony and parade were very well attended and boasted remarks by Connecticut's Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Colonel Frederick Miclon of the Connecticut Air National Guard, U.S Representative Joseph Courtney, State Representative Kathleen Tallarita, Enfield Mayor Scott Kaupin, Enfield Police Chief Carl Sferrazza and Enfield Fire Chief Edward Richards.

It is our intent to fund the memorial through donations and the sale of engraved commemorative bricks that will be placed in the Memorial Garden .  Commemorative brick(s) can be purchased to honor a loved one that served in the fire, police, EMS or military services or to recognize an individual, group or company support of the emergency services or the Enfield Fire Department. An order form with the artist rendering is attached that can be used to purchase the commemorative brick(s).
